Section 263
Banknotes or coins should not be burned, mutilated, torn or written on the banknote
(1) Without the order of the authorized officer, no one shall mutilate or tear bank notes or coins accepted as currency in such a way that they are not useful for burning.
(2) No one shall write or draw on bank notes.
(3) A person who commits or causes an offense under subsection (1) or (2) shall be imprisoned for up to three months and fined up to five thousand rupees.
